The <b>General Members\u2019 Assembly (GMA)<\/b> is where the GSb\u2019s course is determined:<\/p><ul><li><b>Establishing policy:<\/b> The members establish stances and action points on education, housing, student welfare, and financing.<\/li><li><b>Democratic legitimacy:<\/b> The GMA legitimizes the work of the board and the student representatives. The Power of Co-governance<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e5ea633 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e5ea633\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCo-governance is your right to have <b>a say and participate in decisions<\/b> about the policy of the University of Groningen (RUG), Hanze University of Applied Sciences, and vocational education institutions. We ensure that this right is exercised effectively by enabling members to stand for election to co-governance councils. Co-governance is a right enshrined in the WHW (Higher Education and Scientific Research Act) for universities and the WEB (Education and Vocational Education Act) for vocational institutions. Activism is an essential tool for reminding administrators and politicians of their responsibilities and for highlighting injustices:<\/p><ul><li><b>Protests and demonstrations:<\/b> Mobilizing students for large-scale protests to attract public and political attention.<\/li><li><b>Public campaigns:<\/b> Conducting targeted campaigns on issues such as the housing crisis, work pressure, or tuition fees.<\/li><li><b>Exerting pressure:<\/b> Using media attention and social pressure to influence decision-making.<\/li><\/ul><p><b>Student participation is a continuous process.<\/b> It requires both the commitment of our formal representatives within the councils and the involvement and mandate of our members through the GMA and the active pressure of our action groups on the streets and in politics.<\/p><p>Would you like to strengthen the GSb?
